While on the Carnival Liberty November, '05, Cainan partook of the 24/7 pizza, and ate it cheese-side down, on an upper deck chaise while I snapped away, lovin' my little bug with the shutter. Is it just cuz I'm his mama that he's always so darn cute to me?

Miscellaneous photos from San Juan, Antigua, and on the Carnival Liberty, a surreal melange of neon and hyperculture.

This is a series of self-portraits I took while I was hanging out on hold for a VERY long time with the telephone company. Freshly showered, but with no makeup or hair fussing, they are basically me in the middle of the day, taking this very mundane opportunity to indulge in some pleasurable self-absorption.

Thank you for this insightful post. Nurturing and reparenting myself with gentleness, humor, love and respect is where I find myself these days. Allowing myself to experience my fears, and all feelings, no matter how illogical, is one of the ways I'm doing this.

Data did finally get his biggest wish: to "be" human (and although his physical body was not human, the "real" stuff--his feelings made him human).

BTW "Inner Light" is my favorite Next Generation episode. I cry every time I see it. I remember when a very studly friend of mine and I were watching it with tears streaming down our faces, not looking at each other.
